The Reef Dive Resort – Mataking
The Reef Dive Resort: Diving trip to Malaysia. Recently built, the resort suitable for divers, but also for families or honeymoon couples, consists of 8 Executive King Chalets, 24 Premiere Deluxe rooms and 5 brand new Beach Villas, all in traditional style. All accommodations have private facilities, air conditioning, fan, satellite TV, the chalets, set on stilts among the lush greenery of the garden a few steps from the sea, have a bathroom with shower and bathtub overlooking the lagoon and a balcony with chairs and sun lounger; the luxurious Beach Villas feature marble floors and a hot tub in the small courtyard. The restaurant, facing the sea, offers Malaysian, Asian and international cuisine with fish specialties and barbecue evenings. The resort also has 2 bars, a small business center, wireless Internet access (for a fee), a wellness center and jacuzzi, beach volleyball and beach soccer, mini golf. There are numerous activities and water sports that can be practiced in your free time. The beach is equipped with sun loungers and a few umbrellas and is also suitable for families. The reef in front of the resort offers good snorkeling opportunities (boat trips are also organized), while the PADI 5 stars Dive Center offers courses up to divemaster level and boat trips with 3 dives per day to over 30 dive sites of the area.

Arrive at Kuala Lumpur airport in the morning and continue by scheduled flight to Tawau. Meeting with the local assistant and transfer to the port of Semporna (about 1 hour and a half by car) from where we continue by boat to the island of Mataking (about 40 minutes by boat) located off the east coast of Sabah, in 'Alice Channel, a channel over 100 meters deep that separates it from the island of Sipadan (about an hour and a half by boat). White sandy beaches, gardens of splendid corals, crystal clear water make it attractive to diving enthusiasts and more. Accommodation at The Reef Dive Resort with full board in deluxe garden view. Overnight.

Days at your disposal to dive or relax. Full board. Mataking, the furthest of the resort islands from Sipadan (about 1 hour by boat), rests on a vast sandy plateau facing Pandanam Island from which it is separated by a deep channel that offers an incredible assortment of wildlife. Suitable for both inexperienced and advanced divers, the east coast of the island is characterized by a reef that drops gently down to 100 m depth, while the west coast largely offers wall diving. Both macro and pelagic fauna: nudibranchs, humphead parrotfish, frogfish, batfish, rainbow runner, giant clam, lobster, mantis shrimp, stingrays, turtles, tuna, trevally, barracuda. The average surface temperature is about 30 ° -34 ° and reaches up to 27 ° -29 ° going down in depth, for a visibility ranging from 15 to 30 m. The diver package includes 3 dives per day (excluding day of arrival / day of departure) in Pulau Mataking, Pandanan, Bohayan, Kelapuan, Timba-Timba, and Pom Pom. The diving package also includes unlimited shore dives (with a buddy). Upon request, it is possible to organize an exit to the island of Sipadan (subject to availability and authorization of the park, not guaranteed), located about 80 minutes from Mataking, park entrance fee for one day of permit MYR 140 per person.
Breakfast. In good time, transfer by boat and minivan to Tawau airport and scheduled flight to Kuala Lumpur, if possible, continuation with the scheduled flight back to Italy.
