The Daymanyiat archipelago emerges about 18 km from the northeastern coast in front of the city of Barka, an hour away by speedboat. It consists of nine small uninhabited islands, surrounded by white sand beaches, smaller islets, rocks and areas of shallow water, but above all by a lush coral reef that can boast the presence of 85 different types of coral species. In the numerous dive sites the depth is kept within 22-25 meters, never exceeding 30, mostly finning between fifteen and seventeen meters. In the autumn period the water temperature below the surface remains around 26-27 degrees centigrade, allowing you to wear a 5 mm wetsuit without feeling any discomfort for the duration of the dive which, being the depth rather limited, is almost always pushes beyond 60 minutes. These islands are an important protected natural area for the conservation of coral species and the protection of turtles, both green and hawksbill which usually make nests on the beaches between March and June. The scarce exploitation of these sites and the intelligent policy of the government to safeguard this stretch of sea, including limiting the number of divers and snorkelers who can access them at various times of the year mean that not only the infinite variety of hard corals, soft and acroporous are in excellent health, but also that the numerous fish, cephalopods and turtles that crowd around such magnificence are not shy and can be approached easily, provided obviously not harassed. The dive sites are numerous, most of them within the reach of all levels of certification.
