A diving trip proposal in nearby Calabria, in a village also suitable for families. For a summer in our sea with dream diving all with a 5-star PADI service. The highly specialized diving center will accompany you on this experience with great professionalism in compliance with the most rigorous regulations. The same diving center also boasts the IAHD certification, dedicated to the disabled. An inflatable boat with 16 tank seats in the rack. A fast boat with a maximum capacity of 6 people. There is the opportunity for an available boat for groups in addition to the packages, the possibility of obtaining the various certifications on site is available. Courses for all levels of certification, including specific activities for children aged 8 and over (in the pool) and 10 years at sea with dedicated dives. Tailor Made Programs for Disabled Divers Cave, speleological, wreck and technique diving. The dives range from walls to wrecks, from caves to depths rich in underwater life, it is possible to meet lobsters, nudibranchs, sponges, anemones, sea daisies and much more. Diving suitable for everyone: from children to the disabled, up to experienced divers! La Piscinetta del Carpino: we are inside the Carpino bay about 10 minutes by boat from the Diving. An immersion dedicated to children, the disabled and anyone who likes to enjoy the Mediterranean biodiversity. A closed bay called “La Piscina” and an oceanic Posidonia meadow where you can go in search of some Pinna Nobilis. At the end of the dive, for those who wish to, an underground channel about 20 meters long between 3 and 8 meters deep, simple, bright, with an exit point halfway through, full of nudibranchs, shrimps, groupers and much more yet. La Parete del Ciongolo: 5 diving spots on the wall between 5 and 42 meters deep. It is the most fascinating wall in the area in the San Nicola Arcella area. At greater depths we almost always find lobsters and some ravines and caves have colors worthy of the warmest seas. Isola di Dino and Isola di Cirella: they are the two largest islands of Calabria, both 6 miles away from the Village, the first heading north and the second south. Diving in the caves of the island of Dino are very famous, even if on two decidedly opposite levels of difficulty. Grotta Dino a cave for speleo divers and instead Grotta Azzurra is already accessible with a first level license. Many sports proposals are available in the village, with the nautical center and the various sports facilities available to guests, such as basketball, volleyball, five-a-side football… The location of the village is excellent for visiting the surroundings with an excursion to the Riace Bronzes, or for visit the Pollino National Park. But also an opportunity to discover inns and restaurants in the area where you can savor the authentic Calabrian flavors.

THE LOCATION: In the centre of Scalea, in the heart of the splendid Gulf of Policastro and overlooking a wide beach lapped by the blue sea of the Alto Tirreno Cosentino, stands the SANTA CATERINA RESORT, an extensive tourist complex with large green areas of Mediterranean scrub in which the accommodation facilities and hotel and recreational services are located, arranged in two Mediterranean-style buildings: the RESORT body directly on the sea and the VILLAGE body immersed in the green pine forest.
THE SANTA CATERINA VILLAGE: with its 379 rooms and over 40,000 square metres, it has been organising holidays and emotions in Calabria since 1972. With 48 years of experience in the field, it has always adopted criteria of responsibility, in compliance with all current safety regulations and laws, both for our guests and our staff.

ACCOMMODATION: FULL BOARD PLUS+ FORMULA - Provides full board treatment, starting with dinner on the day of arrival and ending with lunch on the day of departure. Meal drinks included in the board are still and sparkling mineralised water, white and red wine and soft drinks (fizzy drinks and fruit juices).
THE BEACH: Directly by the sea, the SANTA CATERINA BEACH lido with direct access to a private sand and pebble beach, reserved and equipped with umbrellas, deckchairs and sunbeds and with bather assistance. With more than 3,000 square metres, maximum safety and tranquillity in terms of relaxation and social distancing will be guaranteed.
SWIMMING POOL SERVICE: There are 4 swimming pools at guests' disposal, 2 of which are semi-Olympic pools suitable for swimming, and 2 for younger guests, 1 of which has a water slide. The use of the swimming pools and all related services will be regulated in accordance with current regulations on social distancing (if necessary, access will be regulated or suspended, without causing non-compliance). The staff is trained and updated on Covid 19 precisely to ensure the safety of all guests.
SERVICES AND FACILITIES: 24-hour reception, excursion service, lifts, wi-fi, TV room, 4 bars, 2 restaurants, pizzeria (July and August), children's restaurant. Shopping arcade with tobacconists, newspapers, souvenirs, photographer, laundry, unattended car park. The Santa Caterina Village is also VILLAGE 4 ALL certified, a quality mark that certifies holiday villages guaranteeing that they are accessible to the disabled, to confirm the empathy towards all guests, but also the concreteness of a punctual and attentive service towards all our guests.
ANIMATION: SANTA CATERINA VILLAGE, with its extension of over 40,000 square metres, is able to guarantee all daytime and evening entertainment activities without going against the protocols of social distancing. The amphitheatre with its 1,000 seats and our conference centre with 800 seats guarantee maximum social distancing so that you can comfortably watch all the shows or games evenings proposed by the entertainment staff. Several activities will be proposed at the same time to avoid crowds, both during the day and in the evening. The piano bar entertainment will have a magical touch with its poolside tables, as well as our garden. All measures designed to ensure that you enjoy yourself safely.
THE MINI AND JUNIOR CLUB: children (4-12 years old) and teenagers (12-17) will be entrusted to a highly qualified entertainment staff, with a rich programme of games, sports, leisure and recreational activities. All activities will be carried out guaranteeing social distancing protocols. For some activities, the presence of at least one parent may be required.
SPORT: Included in the CLUB FEE are the use of sports facilities (basketball court, volleyball, five-a-side football, 2 tennis courts, beach volleyball, bowls, archery, table tennis) during courses and collective tournaments organised by the entertainment staff. The sports equipment (tennis, five-a-side football) is also available outside of the collective entertainment hours and activities, for the use of which a surcharge may apply. It should be noted that collective courses will be activated and only those sports tournaments will be held that can guarantee physical distances and that are compatible with the regulations in force. For certain sports, in compliance with regulations, the use of personal and/or disposable equipment (gloves, balls, etc.) may be necessary, and if so, these will have to be purchased by the user.
THE NAUTICAL CENTRE: daily group theory lessons and individual sailing and windsurfing practice for adults and children led by qualified instructors. Every day free use of canoes, paddle surfs and sailing and windsurfing boats (except during times of group lessons). Lessons are available every day except on arrival and departure days. If the use of disposable aids is imposed, the purchase of these will be charged to the guest.
SANTA CATERINA DIVING: The PADI 5 Stars IDC Diving Centre completes the sporting offer by welcoming divers of all levels and degrees, recreational and technical, snorkelists and freedivers, and is qualified to accompany handicapped divers as well as to issue patents for adults and children with certified PADI and IAHD instructors, representing excellence on the Calabrian coast. The diving service is chargeable.
